House of Fraser Carlisle Auction ending soon

3 min read

We’re helping re-purpose store fittings and fixtures from the former House of Fraser Carlisle store.

This no-reserve auction offers a wide range of items from the recently closed department store, including merchandising tables, clothes rails, shelving units, glass cabinets, store furniture, and more. Every piece is up for grabs, providing a unique chance to acquire high-quality retail equipment.

With the closure of the city centre store, we recognise the disappointment that comes with the loss of such an iconic high-street presence. However, we believe in finding the silver lining. By recycling these premium store fittings and fixtures, we aim to support smaller businesses in need of cost-effective solutions.

These businesses can benefit immensely by gaining access to top-notch equipment and furniture at a fraction of their original cost. This not only promotes sustainability through recycling but also offers an affordable way for smaller enterprises to upgrade their retail environments. Join us in turning the end of an era into a new beginning for many. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to enhance your business with high-end store fixtures from House of Fraser Carlisle.

This auction will be ending on Wednesday the 22nd of May from 1pm BST.

We’re happy to share that last week Yorkshire Wildlife Park bid on our collective House of Fraser auction and won a number of lots, including retail fixtures and mannequins. They’re a fantastic local business who understand the importance of an asset circular economy.

We work with organisations of all sizes to sell their excess equipment and assets to SMEs and charities via online auction. Our main goal is to reduce clearance costs and hit sustainability objectives.

300 Bikes from Bike Club auction now live

300 Bikes from Bike Club auction now live

3 min read

Bike Club was founded back in 2016 with the mission to make bike riding more accessible and affordable. They provide a bicycle subscription service that allows you to exchange the bike as your child grows.

They have seen rapid success over the years and are now expanding into Western European countries such as Holland, Belgium and even as far as Spain.

NCM auctions was approached back in March of this year to create revenue for Bike Club as they have 300 bikes in surplus, suitable between the ages of 2 to 12. Like ourselves, Bike Club’s ethos is to reduce waste and carbon emissions, embracing a circular economy. Each Bike Club bike saves 336kg of CO2 as opposed to an owned bike.

There are a variety of bikes available in the auction catalogue. The Frog 62 is an excellent bike for those aged between 8-10, very capable both on the road or trail.

The auction catalogue also contains a range of road bikes, mountain bikes, single gear bikes, and more.

The Bike Club auction is now live and ends on the 9th of May at 13:00 BST. If you are in the market for a pre-loved bicycle for your child, check out our vast auction catalogue of bikes.

We are also hosting a viewing day on the 8th of May between 10:00 – 13:00 BST, to book please call 01302 898260 or email info@ncmauctions.co.uk

Contents of Communisis Groups printing factories up for auction

3 min read

Communisis, the integrated marketing services company, played a significant role in providing print and mailing services for some of the UK’s largest financial and public organisations. Unfortunately, the Leeds-based company went into administration last year.

Now, the contents of the printing and fulfilment sites in Leeds and Liverpool are being sold by auction. A series of exclusive sales includes everything from specialist printing and finishing lines to lifting equipment, workshop tools, racking, office contents and much more, providing many opportunities for buyers in the printing industry.

The sales include an exclusive live auction on 25 April, comprising of the main production lines, printing presses and finishing equipment used to produce financial documents, marketing materials, cheque books, polling cards and many other specialist products.

Featured equipment includes a Hewlett-Packard T300 colour inkjet web press, high-capacity Rotoman EDE 6-station web press and dryer and Drent and Goebel presses used for printing cheque books, banking and financial materials.

There’s also a Roland R700 6-colour press, Heidelberg printing presses and a Scitex personalisation line capable of high-speed variable data overprinting and the accompanying 15-part finishing line.

Alongside the printing and finishing equipment, the auction also includes the contents of the pre-press and plate making room, large format proofing printers, Polar guillotines, Hohner and MBO finishing machines and more.

“This sale for Communisis is a large project across multiple sites and brings a lot of infrequent and specialist machinery to the market. Our circular approach helps to extend the life cycle of this equipment. It means there are hundreds of pieces of machinery across these sales that will go on to be used by a range of businesses, from start-ups and smaller organisations to those in the print industry who understand the production capacity and quality of the end product they can achieve with this combination of print and finishing equipment.”

“We’ve already seen a great deal of interest from potential buyers both in the UK and overseas. With an auction like this, I would urge potential bidders to book with us and arrange a viewing with our team before the auction.”

Emma Humble, Head of Partnerships for NCM Auctions

The equipment and machinery sale from the Leeds site will be a live auction, starting from 11am on 25 April.

The rest of the timed auctions include the remaining factory fixtures and fittings, workshop tools, lifting and handling equipment, office contents and smaller machinery. These will run from the 24 April to 3 May.

Viewings are available by appointment. Contact the team on 01302 898260 or email info@ncmauctions.co.uk.

Auction for Doncasters former House of Fraser store

3 min read

NCM is finding new homes for the retail fixtures and fittings from Doncaster’s former House of Fraser store.

NCM’s No Reserve Collective Auction includes all the contents of the House of Fraser store. From racking and clothing rails to merchandise tables, retail display units, seating and more.

It follows the news earlier this month that the city centre store would be closing its doors for good. While the news of high-street store closures is disappointing, there can be positives.

With our retail auctions, the local community, charities, and businesses all benefit from access to high-quality fixtures, furniture, catering equipment, retail displays, and much more at a fraction of the cost of sourcing those items new.

Our collective retail auction is live now, and bidding ends 18 April from 1pm

Bawtry Carbon manufacturing site live auction

3 min read

The contents of the carbon cathode block manufacturer Bawtry Carbon will be sold through an exclusive live auction.

Bawtry Carbon based in Austerfield near Doncaster was a leading manufacturer of carbon cathodes, sidewalls and ramming paste for the aluminium smelting sector.

The specialist manufacturer entered administration in February after external factors, including pressures following the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, severely affected the aluminium smelting industry and meant the business was not in a financial position to continue trading.

Now, the entire contents of the carbon cathode block manufacturing site, including production lines, conveyors, forklifts, generators, buildings, compressors, racking, lab equipment, workshop tools, stock and much more, are available in our exclusive liquidation auction.

The specialist machinery includes a Hensel industrial overhead saw carbon cathode block Butler Presses, a Wassmer Machining Centre and Stirk Industrial Dry Grinding Line.

The auction catalogue also includes Linde forklifts, compressors, bagging and packaging equipment, hoppers, portable buildings, bunded storage containers, workshop machinery, lab equipment, office furniture, and more.

The auction will be streamed as a live hybrid auction on the 4 April from 11am BST.

For those interested, you can register now to place pre-auction bids online or join us live on the day to bid in real-time.

A viewing day will take place on 3 April by appointment only.
