Lidl GB had acquired the ex-Waitrose store in Wollaton and needed it cleared of all remaining equipment, furniture and fixtures. A hand-over date to demolition contractors was fixed for the 25th May to start the transformation into a brand new Lidl store.

NCM was appointed on the 1st May and working to extremely tight timescales, the team pulled out all the stops to survey, catalogue and publish the online auction in just five days.

The auction ran for nine days, featuring a total of 270 lots, with over 90% of lots sold by the auction end.

NCM’s on-site team managed the collections process flawlessly, operating strict pre-booked collection time slots and adhering to social distancing rules given the COVID-19 outbreak.

The new Lidl store is expected to open later this year.

When it is safe to do so, and restrictions are relaxed, we will advise on auction collection dates and processes. In the interim, the end dates on some auctions may be extended to accommodate this.

NCM Auctions were approached to clear the hotel and release value from surplus assets before its redevelopment.

With a strict deadline to work too, NCM had just ten days to catalogue, market, auction and clear the building.
