Poundland is clearing the shelves at its West Bromwich Re-use Centre, but not in the usual way.
The high street retailer is working with NCM Auctions on a series of exclusive auctions to clear surplus shop fixtures and fittings from its Re-use Centre.
The first auction includes a variety of new Eden Retail store gondola units and associated accessories and holders, display cases and stepped display units, shopping baskets, Lavor floor cleaners, mobile steps, pallet trucks and much more.
It’s a practical and rewarding move that reduces storage costs and avoids landfill, while supporting smaller retailers and independent businesses with access to quality retail equipment.
The project is part of Poundland’s broader efforts to reduce its operational carbon footprint by 50%. By reselling and repurposing surplus assets instead of scrapping them, the business is taking real, measurable steps with far-reaching results.
Emma Humble, Head of Partnerships at NCM, said:
“This is what circular business looks like. It cuts waste, keeps equipment in use, and supports other retailers in the process. We’re proud to support Poundland as they lead by example.”
Part one of the Poundland auction is online now and bidding ends 28 May from 11am.
